Small group leaders

Primary role is to care for and “pastor” students. Each week from September to May you are to act as the facilitator for your group, connecting with students in a structured program and outside the program.

Retreat Counselors

Similar to small group leadership, we need caring adults to lead and care for a small group on weekend or week-long retreats.

Activity & Event Coordinators

Adults who enjoy seeing students engaged with each other through social and/or physical activity. May include sports, trips, events, and game/social nights. Skills in leadership, managing events, setting up, developing teams, decorating, planning tournaments, organizing sports, etc.

Hospitality Teams for Thrive and Element

Plan and serve refreshments and greet students at weekly meetings. Provides oversight to the food/café area including: preparing and serving snacks, set-up and clean-up, receiving food donations, equipment upkeep, organization, food purchases and provides a variety of choices of food, snacks, and drinks. Must have a genuine care for students and engage others who are serving in this area. Should be friendly and helpful when serving students.

Tech Team for Thrive and Element

Overall passion & understanding of how technology can impact and reach students. Work with the tech manager to enhance programs and events. May include one or more of the following:

-Music DJ (collects, organizes and plays music, keeps music selection up-to-date)

-Sound – Keen awareness of sound needs during performance, events & worship. Works with a rotation on the tech team. Works with worship band and vocalists on microphones and overall sound needs. Communicates needs to the Media Manager.

-Video/Pro Presenter – Likes a good presentation, understands graphics, slideshows, and playing videos. Knowledge of/ability to learn Pro Presenter software which uses various media (sound, graphics, video, lyrics, Bible, etc.) to prepare a presentation.

Creative Teams for Element (High School)

Worship Design Team – Meets bi-weekly to brainstorm how to effectively communicate the teaching themes at Element through creative components.

Drama Team – Desire and passion to creatively communicate God’s love through drama & skits. Team works with the weekly message/theme to have appropriate drama prepared. Drama may be written or come from a variety of available resources. Team would perform 2x a month (at most) and should regularly be seeking others to be involved.

Photography and Graphics – Loves taking pictures, basic knowledge of a digital camera. Take pictures regularly for events, programs, directory/student ID’s. Would include use of personal camera and/or use of Student Ministries equipment. Gets others involved. May include post processing, printing out pictures, display on wall/frames, slideshows for programs and taking pictures of themes for design team
