Why Thrive?

* To deepen Jr. High students' understanding of scripture

* To provide a biblical worldview

* To aid parents in raising godly young men and women who choose to love and serve Christ with their lives

* To do all of this in a fun and engaging environment!

Key Elements:

1. Worship 2. Teaching 3. Small Groups 4. Celebration Night 5. Activities 6. Ministry Opportunities

7. Missions 8. Relationships

guys_girl.jpgWorship: Evey aspect of a believer's life should be in worshipful service to God. Romans 12:1 - "Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing. This is your spiritual act of worship."

In Thrive we want to promote this attitude among our students through times of prayer, teaching, as well as singing worship songs. Those who lead are to be Christ-like, setting a model of one wholly dedicated to glorifying God.

Teaching: Every teaching time will be an opportunity to communicate the truth of scripture and apply it to everyday life. We believe the study and understanding of God's Word is of utmost importance in the life of a believer.

Small Groups: In order to develop community, we create smaller groups of students. Each small group has a leader whose responsibility it is to build strong relationships and to be a Christ-like model. Small groups meet every Thrive night to discuss the students' understanding of the message as well as other life topics. Small groups are also encouraged to meet for fellowship outside the Thrive program.

Celebration Night: The second Wednesday night of the month will be a Celebration Night at Thrive. A salvation message will be shared and students are encouraged to invite friends to this large-group focused night.

shootpool.jpgActivities: Every activity is designed to promote community in an holistic environment where students are accepted and can enjoy spending time with each other while surrounded by Christian role models.

Ministry Opportunities: Because we believe it is important to put our Christian faith into practice, we will have regular ministry opportunities where student involvement is encouraged.

Missions: Christ's last command to the disciples before He left this earth was to, "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19). By calling our students to participate in acts of service we desire that each one will grow in their own faith , develop hearts for serving the Lord as well as develop a love for sharing the gospel of salvation.

Relationships: We were created for relationships - from our relationship to our heavenly Father to the relationships we develop in and outside the church. We have a responsibility to love. Christ is our example. Humility is our goal. Serving others is the outworking of our faith.
