technical arts

Clear and effective communication of God’s truth is vital at Calvary Church. The Technical Arts teams support ministries throughout the church - whether in the auditorium on Sunday mornings or in classrooms throughout the building. Services supported by these teams include Sunday morning, Midweek, Family Fusion, and resonate as well as special services (i.e. Good Friday, Thanksgiving), major outreach programs, and programs presented by outside groups renting the facility.

If you are interested in finding out more about serving on one of these teams, there is an opportunity to observe the team for a couple of weeks prior to making a commitment to enter the training phase. Training generally takes place “on the job” working alongside a veteran member of the team. For more information about any of the technical teams contact LuAnn at lrittenhouse@calvary-church.com

LIFETRACKS
Service messages are recorded by our Lifetracks ministry which supplies audio tapes and CD recordings for a nominal cost in the Resource Center. Time commitment for this team involves once a month on Sunday mornings starting at 8:30 am until about 11:00 am. The team could also use volunteers to record Wednesday nights. Time commitment: once a month 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Training is available. Basic computer skills and the ability to handle electronic equipment (without being afraid of it!) are helpful.

DIGITAL RECORDING TEAM
Our Digital Recording Team utilizes digital computer technology to record the services. These recordings are used for our weekly radio broadcast on THE WORD-FM (88.9 FM at www.wordfm.org) heard each Sunday at 12 noon.

SOUND TEAM
Our Sound Team consists of technicians who support the audio needs for speakers, musicians, actors, video/DVD presentations, etc. The main auditorium features a 40-channel mixing board which supports both direct and wireless technology for both house and stage monitor applications.

LIGHT TEAM
The Light Team specializes in providing both house and theatrical lighting to enhance each portion of a service or program. Each major room utilizes a computer-controlled lighting console which provides control for every light fixture in the room. The team supports not only weekly services and events in the main auditorium, Heritage Hall and "The Factory", but also supports facility rentals and outreach events. No experience is necessary, training is provided. Commitment as little as one service a month is requested. Voluntary support of occasional behind the scenes preparation and maintenance "work nights" on evenings or Saturday mornings is greatly appreciated.

VIDEO TEAM
The Video Team supports the ministry by capturing services and programs through digital video recording, as well as through an in-house TV broadcast venue throughout the campus. Helpful skills for volunteers involve basic knowledge and use of a video camera. Time commitment is once a month on Sunday mornings with training available.

MEDIASHOUT TEAM
Supported by two large rear-projection screens, our Video Projection Team uses the computer software program MediaShout to provide song lyrics, video graphics, PowerPoint presentations and sermon outlines for our services. This team currently has a Sunday group and a midweek group of volunteers, each serving one service per month.

This team has openings in all services: Sunday morning, resonate Sunday evening, Family Fusion, and Midweek. Team members commit to serving one service a month. They arrive approximately 1 1/2 hours before a service to participate in sound checks and prayer time before a service. Team members should have intermediate level computer skills (including the ability to navigate between computer directories), be able to work well with others, be flexible and be able to work under time constraints. A "feel for music" is helpful, but not required. Potential team members have the opportunity to shadow and work alongside current team operators before making any commitments. Training is also available.
