We share in your happiness as you prepare to begin the adventure of marriage together. The Wedding Ministry seeks to assist in coordinating all aspects of planning pertaining to weddings and receptions held at Calvary Church. We encourage you to begin your wedding planning approximately 12 months prior to the wedding date.

At Calvary Church we believe:

• That marriage has been instituted by God and symbolizes the relationship between Jesus Christ and His church. (Genesis 2 and Ephesians 5)
• That healthy marriages are so important we want to do all we can to ensure couples enter into marriage with a strong biblical foundation.

Please note that if you are interested in having a Calvary pastor officiate your wedding, the following are required: 2 to 1 Premarital Class, PREPARE inventory, Premarital Counseling, and a Moneywise appointment.

Setting the Date
Wedding plans begin by scheduling an appointment with the Director of Personal Life Ministries. Please email Deb at dbarlow@calvary-church.com or call 215.723.0963, ext. 111 to start your planning process. At this appointment you’ll receive a Couple’s Wedding Manual and registration form.

Once your completed registration form and deposit are received, we’ll tentatively reserve the church, contact the pastor you’ve chosen to perform your ceremony, and notify the wedding coordinator ministry leader.

2 to 1 Premarital Class

The 2 to 1 Premarital course offered at Calvary Church consists of 12 sessions that explore the make or break issues of marriage, including:

• Expectations
• Conflict Resolution
• Spirituality
• Finances
• Sexuality
• Building One Another Up
• Roles
• Maintaining Relationships
  
  

The cost of the course is $80. A component of the course is the PREPARE inventory, which is a nationally acclaimed relationship evaluation tool. The fee for PREPARE is $30.

Premarital Counseling

Upon completion of the premarital class you will be contacted to schedule premarital counseling. In 4-6 sessions your counselor will use the results of your PREPARE inventory to focus on your personal strengths and weaknesses as a couple. The cost of each appointment is $55. As a part of the counseling process, you’ll also meet with a Moneywise coach who will help you create a personal budget. There is no cost for the Moneywise appointment.
