As a ministry of Congregational
Care at Calvary, the Prayer Support Team seeks to reflect God's
compassion by providing prayer support to the Calvary Church family in
times of need.
Core Values of the Prayer Support Team:
- It is good for Christians to pray for each other (Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2).
- All
Christians can pray directly to God (Ephesians 2:18). God does not give
special preference to certain people, such as pastors, who pray.
- The
prayer of one godly person is effective (James 5:16). God is as
responsive to the prayers of one as He is to the prayers of many.
- Prayer
requests often involve private matters (Matthew 6:6) that are best
shared at a level of support where trust and intimacy have been
established. At Calvary Church, this is best found in Small Groups or
Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs).
How does the Prayer Support Team operate?
- The
Prayer Support Team consists of the team leader, group leaders, and
team members. Each month, a group from the team is "on call" to receive
prayer requests. The Congregational Care Administrative Assistant will
direct all prayer requests for the Prayer Support Team to the team
leader who will direct the request to the "on call" group leader. The
group leader is responsible to make sure that each member of the "on
call" group receives the prayer request.
If you have a prayer request or you're interested in being part of this vital ministry, please email or call Congregational Care at 215.703.8926, ext 139.
