Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
IHN is a program designed to help the local homeless population by providing shelter, education, and transportation with the goal of helping them find permanent housing and employment. Their primary clients are single women, with or without children, and occasionally there will be married couples.
Calvary serves as a buddy church to other area churches who actually provide the facility to be used for this shelter program. We generally are asked to form a team of volunteers twice a year, once in the spring, and once in the fall, usually for two weeks at a time. Those who volunteer can choose to help in a number of different ways. Some will prepare and share the evening meal, others will sleep over and provide transportation to the day center for those who need that. If you can help, or want more information, please contact Sandy Benner at obenfam@verizon.net or 215.721.2064.
We’ve been talking about leaving our “fingerprints” by showing Christ’s love to others, in our church, neighborhoods, community, and around the world. We don’t have to travel abroad to be Missionaries. We can do that by meeting the needs of others right here in our own neighborhood. Is God leading you to get involved?? This is an amazing opportunity.
